Sixth grade students in Miss Kumzi’s and Miss Jilek’s classes have been researching environmental and animal rights issues. On Tuesday, March 15, classes Skyped with Washington D.C. environmental organization Oceana. Matt Huelsenbeck from Oceana’s Climate Change Science Department spoke to the students about ocean acidification. Jessie Ritter from Oceana’s Sea Turtle Campaign team discussed the endangerments of sea turtles. Students were able to ask our presenters questions at the end of each session.
Students are creating public service announcements using iMovie to share what they have learned.
