Sixth Grade Students Compete in Metric Olympics

Combining both a social studies unit on Ancient Greece and a math lesson on the metric system, sixth grade students at GMS competed in Metric Olympics on Friday, April 20th. Olympic activities included the Paper Plate Discuss Throw, Straw Javelin Throw, Left-Hand Marble Grab, and Sponge Squeeze. Students used the metric system to measure each activity and find the average to determine the top finishers in each event.
