Math

The University of Chicago's Everyday Math program is used in kindergarten through fifth grade. The publisher’s website everydaymath.uchicago.edu includes information about the program and a section devoted to parents, including Home/Study Link Help.


Reading/Language Arts

How can I view my textbook pages online?

  1. Log on to thinkcentral.com
  2. Click on the Reading & Language Arts tab on the left side of the screen.
  3. Select the JOURNEYS icon
  4. Select a state (IL)
  5. Select a district (Kirby School District 140, Tinley Park 60477)
  6. Select a school (Bannes, Fernway, Keller, McAuliffe, or Millennium)
  7. Type in the user name and password that was given to you by your teacher. If you have lost or forgotten your username and/or password, please contact your child’s teacher.
  8. Select the My Library icon.
  9. Select the Journey’s material you wish to review.
     
Science

FOSS (Full Option Science System) science curriculum is used in kindergarten through fifth grade. The publisher’s website fossweb.com includes information about the program and a section de-voted to parents, including information about materials and resources.


Social Studies

How can I view my textbook pages online, review material learned in class, or see supplemental activities?

  1. Log on to eharcourtschool.com
  2. Type in your user name and password that was given to you by your social studies teacher. If you have lost or forgotten your username and/or password, please contact your child’s teacher.
  3. Click the Login button on the screen.
  4. Click the Go to Online eBook link.
  5. Select the Unit you wish to view and begin.

Math

How can I view pages from my textbook online?

  1. Log on to www.pearsonsuccessnet.com
  2. Click the orange Log in button under Returning User.
  3. Type in the Username and Password that was given to you by your math teacher. If you have lost or forgotten your username and/or password, please contact your child’s teacher.
  4. Click the Sign In button on the screen.
  5. To view your Pre-Algebra or Algebra textbook, click on the Student Center link. To view your Course 1 or 2 textbook, click on PH Math Course 1 2004 or the CMP 2 2006 Textbook link. Please note: The Worksheet Center link does not work.  You cannot print worksheets from this website.

How can I take a practice test?

1. Go to phschool.com
2. Find the Course Content box in the bottom right corner and select the >>Click Here button.
3. Click on the Companion Web Sites link.
4. Click on the Mathematics link in the middle of the page.
5. Select your PH Mathematics © 2004.
6. Choose your course level.
7. Choose the assessment you would like to take. You can also view video tutors for every section of the book.
 

Reading/Language Arts

How can I view my textbook online?

  1. Go to phschool.com
  2. Find the Course Content box in the bottom right corner and enter Web Code euk - 1001
  3. Click GO
  4. Click on your grade level to view available pages and resources.

Science

How can I view my textbook online?

  1. Go to classzone.com/eservices/
  2. Type in the user name and password that was given to you by your science teacher. If you have lost or forgotten your username and/or password, please contact your child’s teacher.
  3. From the eServices Home Page, click on the textbook title you wish to visit.
  • The Book tab will allow you to view the text online.
  • The Resource Bank tab will allow you to see the resources and handbooks from the end of the text. (The "R" pages
  • The Dictionary tab will allow you to search for definitions.

You may also link to McDougal Littell Class Zone at classzone.com. Your user name and pass-word are the same as for eServices.

  • To find your current textbook, select Middle School Science under the Select Your Subject heading.
  • Choose Illinois in the drop down box under the Select Your State heading.
  • Click GO under the Find Your Book heading. Choose your Middle School Science Book from the options listed.
  • Within each unit, you will find the following activities and resources:
    • Resource Centers for each chapter link to websites with additional information
    • Visualizations and Simulations provide animated images for concepts from the text.
    • The Content Review will be helpful to prepare for each chapter, or review for a chapter test.
    • Audio Readings will read portions of the text to you.

Social Studies

How can I view my textbook, assignments, or take a practice tests online?

  1. Go to my.hrw.com
  2. Type in the user name and password that was given to you by your social studies teacher. If you have lost or forgotten your username and/or password, please contact your child’s teacher.
  3. Click the Log in button on the screen.
  4. Click Go to the Online Textbook. You may now view your textbook and assignments online.

Description of tabs across the top of the page:

  • Book Pages: Here you can see any page number from the book. Select the chapter from the top drop down box,then select the section from the second drop down box.
  • eActivities: Here you will find the chapter activities, videos, online quizzes as well as reviews for the tests. This tab also gives you access to eResources where you can find graphic organizers, an atlas, research and many other useful resources.
  • Audio: Here you can download audio recordings of the book sections.
  • References: Here are all the reference sections from the textbook.
  • Student References: Here you are able to get worksheets that may help with comprehension, as well as vocabulary. You can also get a hold of review activities to help with chapters and sections
