Registration Fee Discount Ends April 30
Congratulations to District 140 band members Ethan Myers (tenor saxophone) and Lucas Ruhe (trumpet) for being selected to participate in the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) Jazz Band Festival hosted at T-F South High School in Lansing, IL. Our students auditioned earlier this year and were selected from a pool of over 1,000 middle schooler musicians. Ruhe and Myers rehearsed with their respective bands from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., only stopping for a short lunch break. They then performed in concert to a full house at TF South. ILMEA brings in professional jazz artists and educators to rehearse with the young musicians.
District 140 has two jazz bands that are performing at the Tinley Park Holiday Market on Sunday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. and at Grissom Middle School on Wednesday, December 13th at 7:30 p.m. You can find additional band concert dates posted at www.ksd140.org/band.
