The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Kirby School District 140 its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2017-18 budget year.  This is the 13th consecutive year that the District has achieved this distinction.

The MBA promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials’ skill in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is bestowed only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria. Less than one percent of schools nationwide received this honor last year.

Founded in 1910, the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is a nonprofit organization that, through its members and affiliates, represents approximately 30,000 school business professionals worldwide. ASBO International is committed to providing programs, services, and a global network that promote the highest standards in school business. Its members support student achievement through effective resource management in various areas ranging from finance and operations to food services and transportation.
