KSD 140 Launches New District and School Websites

January 15, 2013

Kirby School District 140 started off the new year with a new look for their District and school websites.

Designed by Rhyolite Design and powered by Campusuite, the websites showcase student activities throughout the District and allow users quick access to important information. A new user-friendly interface and additional web features complete the package.

“The overall goal was to develop a more comprehensive communication strategy to meet the expectations and needs of our community,” said Superintendent Michael Byrne.

In addition to a new look and feel, the site’s navigation and content has been streamlined to improve visitor experiences.

The design includes mega menus that provide easy access to lots of information; photos and videos that accentuate the work happening across the District; quick links for parents, students and the community to the sites' most requested pages; individual teacher websites; an improved calendar and news section; a searchable staff directory; links to social media; a staff intranet; new school mascot logos; and a mobile site.

The District’s service agreement also includes new product updates and enhancements, on-going training, technical support, and a monthly hosting fee. The included product development will provide the District with a cost-effective way to take advantage of new technology and communication tools as they become available.

“We’re so pleased with this new design and apparently, so is the community,” said Byrne. “We’ve had a tremendously positive response thus far.”
