Dear Kirby School District 140 families,

This week, our staff began the process of rescheduling students and planning transportation routes based upon family learning choices for the second quarter of the school year. Implementing a districtwide half-day A/B schedule, in conjunction with a full remote option, adds layers of complexity to our scheduling and operations process. We plan to communicate classroom/teacher assignments and transportation information to families during the week of October 19. Thank you for your patience.

Over the past few weeks, we have heard from several families who appreciate our half-day Hybrid and Remote learning models and also from many who wish we could provide different options for their students. We understand that families have varying circumstances. Achieving our objective to provide the safest and best possible education for your student has become more complicated since March. As time passes and individual concerns shift, the District's commitment to providing the best quality education, while complying with established safety guidelines remains unchanged. To accomplish this, we need to work together and remain focused on our shared commitment to our students, staff, and community. We appreciate your support.

Sincerely,
Dr. Shawn M. Olson
Superintendent
