D140 Boys’ Volleyball Dominates SWIC Regular and Postseason Play

The KSD 140 boys’ volleyball program dominated the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) this year. All four of the District’s middle school teams turned in impressive seasons. The program’s stats include one perfect season, two Conference Championships, two conference tournament MVP’s, four first or second place division titles, 10 All-Conference players and a combined 40-4 regular season win-loss record. 

Grissom Middle School’s 8th grade conference championship team had a perfect 11-0 regular season record and went undefeated in postseason tournament play. Sean Monahan, Nathan LaPlant and Lucas Urban were named All-Conference, with Nathan LaPlant taking home MVP tournament honors. Prairie View Middle School’s 8th grade team had a 9-2 regular season record and finished second in tournament play. All-Conference honors were earned by Michael Cafagna and Patrick Keating. 

Prairie View’s 6th/7th grade conference championship team finished the regular season with a 10-1 record and brought home a first place tournament trophy. Johnny Arvanetes, Danny Laird and Luke Spratt were named All-Conference, with Luke Spratt taking MVP tournament honors. Grissom’s 6th/7th grade team also had an impressive 10-1 regular season record and finished second in tournament play. All-Conference honors were earned by Zavier Fitch and Jake Kearney.
