D140 fourth and fifth-grade athletes hit the track for an afternoon of friendly competition at the District's annual track meet on Thursday, May 29, at Andrew High School.
Students participated in several traditional track and field events, including the softball throw, long jump, 400m, 200m, 100m, 60m, 4X100m, and individual and relay events. The full 1/4-mile track, complete with lane markings, a starter pistol, timing, and cheering crowds, enhanced the elementary track experience.
