The Bannes fifth grade Boys’ Volleyball team is off to a great start!
This year, D140's Winter Break will begin with a Half Day on Thursday, December 22. Elementary schools will be dismissed at 11:10 am, and middle schools will be dismissed at noon.
As part of their National Fire Prevention Week campaign, our local fire departments visit KSD 140 elementary schools in September and October to educate our students about all aspects of fire safety and prevention.
Just a reminder ... Friday, September 23 is a HALF-DAY.
Picture day at Bannes will be Thursday, September 22.
Kirby School District 140 will have three (3) four-year seats available on our seven-member Board of Education.
Bannes students will have a chance to shop the Book Fair during their scheduled class time, September 15-16.
D140 students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue on Friday, September 9, in observance of Patriot Day (Sunday, September 11).
The 2022 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 8, and we’d like to celebrate with a districtwide Spirit Day!
Just a reminder … KSD 140 celebrates Labor Day on Monday, September 5.
As required by the Illinois State Statute, our schools participate in fire, severe weather, bus evacuation, and emergency response drills during the school year.
The KSD 140 Band Program did a presentation concert to introduce band instruments to all District fifth-graders at Prairie View Middle School today.

Bannes Elementary School students and their families are invited to join us on Wednesday, August 17, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. for a picnic with the principal in Bannes' south parking lot.
Welcome! KSD 140 elementary principals and kindergarten teachers will meet with kindergarten students and their parents during the third week of August.
Elementary classroom assignments and middle school student schedules will be released via Infinite Campus on Monday, August 8, 2022. Transportation information will be available in portals on Monday, August 15.
