Dear Parents/Guardians/Students,

We have outlined a plan for families to pick up student belongings from school. Beginning the week of May 18th, we will have three pick up days for the three different grade levels. If you have a child in more than one grade level, please come on the day assigned to your oldest child. If the weather does not cooperate, we will notify parents and reschedule. Please be patient as we work through this process. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this runs smoothly.

  • TO AVOID OVERCROWDING AND DELAYS, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO COME ON YOUR ASSIGNED DAY and TIME!
  • Please post a sign with your child/children’s name LAST, FIRST and TEAM clearly visible in the driver side window.
  • We are reversing the traffic flow in our parking lot. Please enter through the entrance on the northeast side of the lot closest to 80th Avenue. Drive along the sidewalk as it winds around where the buses usually park and keep going until you reach the front of the building by the main entrance. Pull all the way up to the cones. There will also be signs to help guide you. PLEASE DO NOT EXIT YOUR VEHICLE.
  • A staff member will retrieve your child or children’s belongings and bring them to your car.
  • Please have your trunk open so that our staff can put the bag(s) directly in the trunk or back seat. You will exit at the entrance on the northwest side of the lot closest to the main entrance.

MEDICINE: The school nurse will contact you regarding the specific instructions for medication pick up. The medication will be brought to your vehicle.

BAND FAMILIES: You will return your uniforms and instruments (those of you who are currently playing a school owned instrument) at Prairie View. You can proceed to Prairie View after your Grissom pickup. Please have your uniform in a bag labeled with your child's name as well as any instruments in the trunk of your car.  When you arrive, please open your trunk and our staff will take your item(s) out.  Upon inspection of the uniform, a refund of your deposit will be mailed to you. You should be able to exit the line after you hand in your instrument and uniform.

YEARBOOKS: Our yearbooks have not yet been delivered. Once we receive them, we will determine how we will get them to students.

LIBRARY BOOKS, IPADS, ETC.:  Please hold onto these items. We will provide further instructions about these items at a later date.

8th GRADE8th Graders’ caps and gowns were delivered to homes on Monday, May 11th. If you did not receive your 8th Grader’s cap and gown, they will be added to the locker bags. Unfortunately, some students’ graduation pictures have not been delivered and are still at Lifetouch. We will contact you when they arrive.

As always, thank you for your partnership as we work together to keep students and staff safe. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Deborah Broadwell, Principal

Karyn Bissell, Assistant Principal
