This activity is open to girls and boys in grades six, seven, and eight. Organizational sessions in early April usually fill two basic squads that compete in track events and in field events. This is a competitive activity and one that features a complement of students in each major division. Try-outs for certain events may be held due to limited available roster spots. Coaches arrange various track competitions throughout April and May; the final SWIC Track Meet is held at an area high school on a Saturday in mid-May. Students can earn individual honors and recognition; schools also gain honors for individual or team scores.
