Student Council

Sponsors: Mrs. K. McClafferty and Mrs. J. Stiglic

The Student Council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school administrators. We also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects, helping people in need, and school reform. Students will focus on building leadership and collaboration skills in this group. Student Council organizations are open to any/all interested sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students. Student Council officers work with representatives and sub-committees to design community service assistance, school-based activities, or special events. Our middle school Student Councils have supported:
activities that need student leadership

  • Planning school-wide spirit weeks
  • Participating in various charity drives and fundraisers
  • Engaging in team-building exercises
  • Collaborating in hosting a Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Hosting events for honor council recognition
  • Being involved in promoting Positive Patriots & school announcements

Our Student Council promotes leadership skills among members and provides a means for our students to have a representative voice in the operation of their school. There are no rigid qualifying measures for students to join Student Council, although the faculty usually reviews elected officers or representatives in terms of basic, good citizenship standards.
