Grissom Patriots Take the Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois

Grissom Middle School students and staff raised more than $37,000 for Special Olympics Illinois during the school’s first Cool School Plunge on March 16.

More than 100 participants helped make the after-school fundraiser a success, collecting donations from family and friends in the weeks before the event. The Cool School Plunge is a school-based version of the Polar Plunge and gives students a fun, meaningful way to support Special Olympics athletes across Illinois.

The funds raised will help provide year-round training and competition opportunities for athletes involved with Special Olympics Illinois.
