Christa McAuliffe Elementary School serves students from early childhood through fifth grade in Tinley Park, IL. We are committed to working in partnership with our community to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where students are equipped with the skills for life and learning.

Full Day Schedule
Students (K-5) 7:55 a.m. - 2:25 p.m.
Half-Day Kindergarten 7:55 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.
AM Early Childhood 7:55 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
PM Early Childhood 11:50 a.m. - 2:25 p.m.
School Year Office Hours 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

School starts at 7:55 a.m. Students should not be dropped off before 7:45 a.m. 

Our summer office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During the summer, we are closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our offices are also closed on all Fridays in July and the first Friday in August.

Before and After School Care

Ivy League provides before and after-school care in all D140 elementary schools. Please visit Ivy League for information regarding pricing, hours, and registration.

Arrival Drop Off Procedure

Cars should enter the school property and use the circle lane for drop-off. Drivers, please stay in your vehicle and pull all the way forward before letting your child out.McAuliffe parking lot car drop off


Arrival Entrance Doors

All bus riders, car riders, and walkers will enter through the following doors:

  • Kindergarten - Door 2
  • 1st Grade - Door 1
  • 2nd Grade - Door 2
  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade - Door 6

Dismissal Pick-Up Procedure

Cars should use lanes 1 and 2 as indicated and pull all the way forward. Drivers should exit their vehicles to meet students at their assigned door. Once all students are safely in cars, vehicles will exit the lot together.

  • 2nd Grade - Door 3

Suggested Walking Routes

Raintree
All students east of 88th Avenue should travel on Carriage Lane or Raintree Road to 88th Avenue. Students must cross at 175th Street and 88th Avenue.
 
Timbers Edge (North of 175th Street)

Students west of 88th Avenue should travel on 172nd Street to Locust Avenue to 174th Street into school.
 
Timbers Edge (South of 175th Street)
Students south of 175th Street should travel to Mulberry Street or Oakwood Drive. At the intersection of 175th Street and Mulberry Street, students must cross with the crossing guard.
 
Timbers Estates
Students west of school and north of 175th Street should travel to 174th Street and walk directly to the school.
 
Caledonia Meadows

All students should travel north on Upland Avenue to 179th Street and cross 179th Street at Upland Drive. Walk east to Elmwood Drive and follow Elmwood Drive to 178th Street. Travel east on 178th Street to Mulberry Street and go north on Mulberry Street to 175th Street. Cross with the crossing guard at 175th Street and Mulberry Street.
