As part of their National Fire Prevention Week campaign, our local fire departments visit KSD 140 elementary schools in September and October to educate our students about all aspects of fire safety and prevention. This year's theme is “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower.” The campaign focuses on everyday charging habits that can reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and help keep homes and communities safe.
On Friday, September 4, Tinley Park Fire Department personnel visited McAuliffe Elementary and gave students an overview of the fire truck equipment, firefighting protective clothing, and fire safety tips.
