Each month, one of our seven schools takes center stage at the Board of Education meeting, sharing something unique about their building. Principal Jim Hanley shared a video highlighting the Million Minute Reading Challenge and the many creative ways students are being encouraged to read for fun and growth.

Motivations and milestones include:

• Weekly Top Bean Trophy for the class with the most minutes
• Monthly prizes for top readers in each grade
• Raffle tickets for every 50 minutes read (end-of-year winners get to pour beans on Mr. Hanley!)

The challenge is designed not only to encourage daily reading but also to bring the school community together around a shared goal. With every book, story, and page, McAuliffe students are proving that small habits can lead to something truly extraordinary.
