The District permits residents of the KSD 140 community to use school buildings for civic and recreational purposes.

Requests to use school facilities should be made by emailing our Operations and Maintenance Department

Building Use Classifications and Fees

Group Classifications

  • Group 1: Approved School District-sponsored group student activity, District union association, School District teacher activity, and PTO.
  • Group 2: Organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies, 4-H Club, local area and executive committees of these organizations, parent-teacher organizations, School District band parents association, and any other school-recognized organizations with activities dealing directly with children of the School District.
  • Group 3: All other groups, including but not limited to: school-related organizations for adult participants, special organizations within the School District serving the community, including but not limited to: homeowners' groups and municipal groups, and activities of organizations that have entered into a formal lease agreement with the Board of Education.

Building Use Fees

The fees listed below are for actual occupancy only. Additional custodial fees are also charged, see below. Special circumstances may be considered, and fees may be modified at the discretion of the Board of Education.

Please note that groups will be required to pay a $150.00 building use deposit upon confirmation of the assigned time and location for your group. The deposit will be applied to the debt your organization incurred. If the applicant is not satisfied with the assigned days or location, they may withdraw their application.

Please note: State Law requires that school districts have readily available for emergency use “Automated External Defibrillators” in each facility. There is signage in all gymnasiums as to the location of the defibrillators.
