Prairie View Middle School Welcomes New Assistant Principal

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, educator Maura Baskovich will join KSD 140’s administrative team as the new Assistant Principal of Prairie View Middle School. Principal Meghan Maurer believes Ms. Baskovich’s strong track record of successful middle school teaching and leadership experience will be a great asset to an already established teaching staff and school community.

Ms. Baskovich holds both a master's degree in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago and a master's degree in College Student Personnel and Administration from Indiana University Bloomington. She is also a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. For the past twelve years, Ms. Baskovich has been an instructional and resource special education teacher at Grissom Middle School. Her prior experience includes four years as a high school resource teacher for the Chicago Public Schools and experience as the Residence Hall Director and Assistant Director of Alumni Relations for Loyola University Chicago and the Director of Alumni Relations for St. Xavier University Chicago.

“I was ecstatic to be offered the position of Assistant Principal of Prairie View Middle School." stated Ms. Baskovich. "As a parent of a former student and as a teacher in the District for the last 12 years, I know that KSD140 is a phenomenal district and I look forward to working with the entire Prairie View Middle School community. While I have always been a proud Patriot, I am ready to fly and become a Prairie View Eagle.”

Ms. Baskovich replaces former Assistant Principal Dan Callaghan who is leaving Prairie View to become the new Principal of Bannes Elementary School.
