Superintendent's November 2019 Update

Superintendent's November 2019 Update

On October 30th, the Illinois State Board of Education released our District’s annual School Report Card. I am pleased to report that both Bannes and McAuliffe received an overall designation of Exemplary! For McAuliffe, it is the second year in a row. Fernway, Grissom, Keller, Millennium, and Prairie View all received a designation of Commendable. These designations show that the hard work of the students and staff has paid off. We hold high expectations for our students, and we believe every student can meet our expectations with the right supports.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 25th from 1:00 - 8:00 pm. and Tuesday, November 26th from 8:00 am. - 3:00 pm. This a wonderful time to meet with your child’s teachers and review their progress. Conferences can be scheduled during the day and in the evening to accommodate your schedule. For more information, please visit ksd140.org.

Finally, on behalf of the Board of Education, our administrative team, and our entire D140 staff, I would like to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Dr. Shawn Olson
Superintendent

D140 Schools Celebrate Veterans Day in November

This month, schools throughout the District will commemorate Veterans Day with special assemblies, patriotic programs, class projects and/or tributes to our military veterans. KSD 140 honors the millions of American military men and women who have valiantly fought to build, improve and defend our nation's freedom.

Save the Date!

D140 parents are invited to a Parenting the Digital Generation presentation at 6:30 pm on Monday, December 9th at Prairie View Middle School. This parents only event will cover topics such as the challenges of digital parenting, internet safety, social media, apps, and online trends.
