KSD 140 welcomes Ms. Amanda Kelly to its Central Office administrative team as EL/Title  I Coordinator. Ms. Kelly is charged with leading the District’s English language (EL) department and managing the Title 1 and Title III federal grant programs.

“It is an honor to be a part of KSD 140’s Central Office administrative team,” stated Ms. Kelly. “I grew up in a bilingual home and love the increasing diversity of our District. In addition, I am a parent of a child who attends an elementary school, another in middle school, and one recent graduate, all from KSD140. I am aware of the overall outstanding educational and life experiences students receive. More importantly, I am excited to work with our community, parents, students, and staff, to ensure fairness for all students in KSD 140.”

Ms. Kelly holds an endorsement from National Louis University, specializing in Educational Leadership and English Language Learners. In addition, she holds a Master's Degree of Arts with a focus on reading from St. Xavier University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Governors State University. For the past seven years, Ms. Kelly has worked in KSD 140 as an eighth-grade teacher at PV, taught EL in both middle schools, and facilitated the EL department. Before working at KSD 140, she worked at Community High School District 218 for eleven years as a reading specialist and EL teacher at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, taught middle school in Chicago Public schools for three years, and started her career at Our Lady of the Ridge School. Ms. Kelly is wrapping up her twenty-second year in education.
