And the 2026 Annual Food Drive winner is ... Grissom Middle School!

A group of students pose in front of boxes of food donations with a Grissom Junior High School sign visible.

In the annual food drive challenge between District 140's two middle schools, the Patriots edged out the Eagles in their week-long collection of non-perishable food items for the Tinley Park Food Pantry. The combined efforts netted 1,040.6 pounds of canned and boxed items, with Grissom students contributing 652.75 pounds and Prairie View students bringing in 387.6 pounds.

Student Council sponsors Ms. McClafferty, Ms. Stiglic, Ms.Earley, and Ms. Grella would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's food drive and the Student Council members for their hard work. It was great to see both middle schools participate in an event that gives back to the community.

Donations were sent to the Tinley Park Food Pantry, primarily serving the Tinley Park and Orland Hills communities.
