Seventh Graders Take Part in 2026 Project RIDE

Four students pose for a photo in a classroom, two giving thumbs up while one holds a drawing of a house labeled "House".

Seventh-grade students at Grissom and Prairie View Middle Schools recently participated in Project RIDE (Reinforcement in Drug Education), a districtwide program designed to promote healthy decision-making and raise awareness about safety and substance abuse prevention.

Project RIDE features a variety of age-appropriate presentations and activities, including:

  • “Less Tired. More Inspired” presentation
  • Drug Enforcement Administration presentation
  • Tinley Park Police Department internet safety presentation
  • School resource officer presentation on vaping
  • Decision-making and peer pressure discussions
  • Teacher-led team-building activities

Through collaboration with parents and community partners, KSD 140’s Project RIDE program supports students in making informed, healthy choices both in and out of school.

Four people gathered around a table, working on a project with paper, string, and tape.     Guest speaker stands facing a large group of students sitting in bleachers, with "Home of the Patriots" text and an American flag design on the wall behind them.

The counselor stands at the front of a classroom, gesturing towards a projector screen displaying text. Students are seated at desks, facing the counselor and screen.     Students working together on a project at a table, manipulating strings attached to a drawing.

A group of students are seated in a circle in a room, listening to a person standing in the center who appears to be speaking.
