Kirby School District 140 will have three (3) four-year seats available on our seven-member Board of Education. The seats will be filled following the April 6, 2027, election. Elected candidates will serve four-year terms expiring in April 2031.
To be eligible to serve as a school board member, you must be, on the date of election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the State of Illinois and Kirby School District 140 for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions for signatures beginning August 25, 2026. For more information, you may want to consult the "2027 Candidate's Guide," located on the Illinois Board of Elections website.
