WGN’s Lauren Jiggetts and crew stopped by Grissom Middle School to celebrate a very special member of the Grissom community: physical education teacher Jan O’Neil, WGN’s Teacher of the Month!
Each month during the 2026-27 school year, WGN recognizes an educator who makes a meaningful difference in students' lives. Grissom paraeducator Karen Allen nominated Mrs. O'Neil, highlighting the lasting impact she has made on her students and school community. As part of the recognition, Grissom will also receive a $1,000 award from Ankin Law.
Students Momen O., Anna S., and Emma T. joined Mrs. O’Neil in front of the camera to share their perspectives for the WGN segment.
We’re proud to see Mrs. O’Neil recognized for the care, energy, and dedication she brings to Grissom each day. Tune in to WGN News at 9 p.m. on October 27 to see her story!
