Prairie View Middle School News

Nearly 100 students from sixth, seventh and eighth grades went head-to-head in Prairie View's annual Battle of the Books on Friday, April 12th.

Twenty-three members of the KSD 140 band program were selected to participate in the 30th Annual SWIC All-Conference Honor Band Festival on Wednesday, April 11th at Palos South Middle School.

Just a reminder ... Wednesday, April 10th is a START Day. Elementary schools will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and middle schools will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.

We really enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by our booth at the Discover Tinley Expo on Saturday, April 6th.

The combined choirs from Grissom and Prairie View toured to Bannes, Millennium and McAuliffe on March 21st to promote "Music in Our Schools" Month.

With an amazing 18-1 season record, our Prairie View Eagles seventh grade boys’ basketball team captured the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) South Division regular season championship and the SWIC Tournament Championship.

KSD 140’s Polar Plunge team took a dip in the frigid waters of Lake Leisure in Joliet on Saturday, March 9.

On Friday, March 22nd, students and staff will be shaving their heads to help fight childhood cancer. Please help us kick off our annual St. Baldrick’s event by participating in our spirit week Monday, March 18th through Friday, March 22nd.

Kirby School District 140 welcomes parents to Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year on Wednesday, March 13th 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

PV Students Create Video Games

Eighth grade Honors English and Language Arts students created a video game based on the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Kirby School District 140 its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation during the 2018-19 budget year. This is the 14th consecutive year that the District has achieved this distinction.

PV Hosts Cheer Clinic

Our Prairie View Cheer team recently hosted their 2nd annual Cheer Clinic which included 120 participants from District 140’s five elementary schools.
