Dear Parents/Guardians/Students,

We have been working on a plan for families to pick up student belongings from school. This week, staff has been emptying all contents from both the hallway and PE lockers. We will be bagging and labeling all the students’ belongings to prepare for pick up. We will have three pick up days for the three different grade levels. • TO AVOID OVERCROWDING AND DELAYS, PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO COME ON YOUR ASSIGNED DAY and TIME!
  • Please post a sign with your child/children’s name LAST, FIRST and GRADE LEVEL clearly visible in the passenger side window.
  • Pull up to the orange cones in the driveway. A staff member will retrieve your child or children’s belongings and bring them to your car.
  • Please have your trunk open or the back-seat car door open so that our staff can put the bag(s) directly in the trunk or back seat.

MEDICINE: The school nurse will contact you regarding the specific instructions for medication pick up. The medication will be brought to your vehicle.

BAND FAMILIES: This is when you will return your uniforms and instruments (those of you who are currently playing a school owned instrument).  Please have your uniform in a bag labeled with your child's name as well as any instruments in the trunk of your car.  When you arrive, please open your trunk and our staff will take your item(s) out.  Upon inspection of the uniform, a refund of your deposit will be mailed to you.

YEARBOOKS: The company who publishes our yearbooks is still closed. We have reached out to our representative. She told us that our estimated delivery date for yearbooks is late June or early July. Once we receive the yearbooks, we will figure out how we will get them to students.

GRADUATION: We are working hard to put together an alternative plan to honor our 8th grade graduates. Planning an event like this for our graduates-to-be does take time and we have not finalized a plan yet. Please know that we are working on it and will communicate with graduates and their families as soon as that information is available.

We just received word that the 8th grade graduation signs will be ready today.  Barring any unforeseen issues, staff will place the signs on the lawns of our students on Monday, May 11th.  Caps and Gowns and any graduation pictures that were delivered to Prairie View will be placed on the doorstep.

Sincerely,

Dr. Meghan Maurer
Principal
